The John Roan School Association - PTA
The JRSA is the friendly John Roan School PTA.
We meet every term to provide an essential link between parents/carers and the school. The meetings are relaxed, social and informative. We discuss issues relating to the school, fundraising ideas and upcoming social events. The Headteacher attends and provides a Headteacher’s report on life at the school.
Over the last few years, we have been able to give different departments and areas of the school some support with funding which has been raised through the JRSA. This has included new equipment for The Hope Memorial Trust at Braithwaite, as well as the Geography, Science, Design and Technology, Art, PE and Music Departments.
Throughout the year, we hold quiz nights, a Summer BBQ, support concerts organised by the Music Department and provide refreshments and a friendly face at Parent and Open Evenings.
Come along to the next meeting for a chat and a coffee.
JRSA meetings are held in the Westcombe Park site and start at 6.45pm -
Wed, 5th February
Tues, 10th March
Wed, 6th May
Tues, 30th June
Sign up to the JRSA Lottery and Win!
The JRSA lottery costs a minimum of £1 per month. Prizes are drawn every 2 months, first prize is currently £52, second prize £26. The lottery helps the parents in supporting the school.
The lottery is one of the main sources of income for the JRSA and it means we can support the school. In the last few years we gave money to buy new waterproofs for Braithwaite ; to the sixth form ; to give every Art student a sketch book ; to buy equipment for Fashion and Textiles ; to support the Music department ; and towards the time capsule for the new Westcombe Park building.
